Who does the work
Colorado has no state HVAC license, so licensing is local, and the license to ask for depends on where the house sits. Inside the City of Pueblo and Boone that is the Southern Colorado Building Department; in unincorporated Pueblo County, including Pueblo West and Colorado City, it is the Pueblo County Building Division, whose Mechanical Contractor A license requires a passing ICC exam and a current EPA certification card. In Fremont County it is the county building department in Cañon City, or the city departments in Cañon City and Florence. Electrical work beyond the cooler’s own control circuit, and any gas or refrigerant work in a conversion, needs a licensed electrician or HVAC contractor, and that belongs on the quote rather than discovered on the bill.
